Our latest offering from Two Toad Farm CSA starts you off with healthy seedlings at the perfect time for planting, advice on soil and garden prep, and teaches you how to grow your own food for your family.

At Two Toad Farm, we believe that learning how to grow your own food is important, but many folks don’t know where to start. If you are serious about growing your own food, then our Seedling CSA is a great place to start. With over 475 USDA Certified Organic seedlings spread out across 10 weeks of spring and early Summer (5 pickups), the garden planning, preparation methods, and variety selection are all taken care of for you. This CSA option costs $250.00, requires a minimum 25’x50′ of garden space, and is for people who are serious about growing their own food for their family. The vegetable seedlings included in last year’s (2013) seedling CSA will remain much the same for 2014. They included the following veggies: Onions, parsley, celery, broccoli, cabbage, bok choy, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, chard, eggplant, basil, peppers, tomatoes, zukes, cukes, summer squash, patty pan squash, and acorn, butternut, delicata, and kubocha winter squashes.

Berwick PTO presents:

Growing Your Own Food– Where to start, how to do it easier.

 

On Friday February 28 from 6:- 8:pm at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine, Jordan Pike of Two Toad Farm will give a talk titled: “Growing your own food” and will focus on how the beginner to advanced home-scale gardener can take advantage of commercial Organic production methods. The talk is sponsored by the Berwick PTO, and topics will include soil management, weed control, fertility, pest control, cultivation, cover crops, variety selection, and more. A large amount of the time will be devoted to questions and answers, and the goal is to teach you how to make gardening easier.
